Matthew Boyles is a highly skilled professional clarinetist based in southern Indiana. He has a rich musical background and is currently an active performer with the Louisville Orchestra as well as other local area orchestras. Before relocating to southern Indiana, Matthew was a sought-after performer in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has played with numerous prestigious orchestras and ensembles, including the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, California Symphony, Monterey Symphony, Modesto Symphony, and New Century Chamber Orchestra. Prior to moving to the West Coast, he performed as a professional clarinetist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and various groups across the Northeast after earning his Master's Degree at Temple University in 2011.
In addition to performing, Matthew is a published arranger and dedicated educator. He served as a site director and lead wind teaching artist at Enriching Lives through Music, a year-round music and academic success program in San Rafael, California, and taught collegiately as an adjunct professor of clarinet at Saint Mary’s College and Napa Valley College. He is also an accomplished arranger of classical music for a variety of instrumentations and difficulty levels.
Matthew’s diverse interests extend beyond music. He pursues astrophotography in his free time, capturing stunning images of the night sky. His talents and passions reflect a deep appreciation for both the beauty of the natural world and the power of human expression through music.
